Cuts for
the Coast.
Every May, we give 20% of the chair back to the water it looks out on. Book a cut, a color, or a gloss between the 15th and the 31st — Save Our Shores gets the rest.

The salon sits three blocks from a cliff. On a good morning, you can hear the surf between blowdries. That water is part of the work — it’s what makes this corner what it is.
So every May, for seventeen days, 20% of every appointment goes to Save Our Shores — the people quietly keeping the Pleasure Point shoreline the way we love it. Same menu. Same prices. Same unhurried appointments. A small salon giving a little back.
A fifth of every service — cut, color, keratin, kids — goes straight to Save Our Shores. Nothing added to your bill.
Book any color service and we'll add a complimentary coastal-inspired scalp treatment on the house.
May 22 · walk-ins welcome, coffee and pastries from the corner, a short cliff cleanup at 9am if you want to join.
Hosted at 877 41st Ave. all month. Tuesday through Saturday, normal hours, three chairs on the floor.
The Point · Low tideDavid has been at the chair here since 1986 — and chose this corner in 2010 because of the light coming off the water. Forty years in, the water is still what makes 41st Avenue feel like Pleasure Point.
This is a small thing — a fraction of a fraction of what the coast needs. But small things add up, and the salon is small on purpose. So we start where we sit.
Partner · Save Our ShoresSave Our Shores has been the quiet caretaker of the Monterey Bay coastline since 1978. Beach cleanups, water quality monitoring, education for the next generation of surfers — the boring, unglamorous work of keeping something beautiful.
Every dollar from May 15–31 that comes off the chair ends up on the shoreline. We'll publish the total in June.
Three stylists, one small floor, one shared cause.
May 15 through May 31 — seventeen days of the chair giving back.
A fifth of every service — quietly, straight to Save Our Shores.
David and Gam have been part of the fabric of Pleasure Point for a long time. Small salons like theirs are exactly the quiet, steady partners that keep this coastline what it is.Save Our ShoresA neighbor down the road
Everything you need to know to book, come by, or stop in on the community Saturday.
Both work. Standing appointments are always the safest bet — especially on Community Saturday (May 22). But walk-ins are welcome whenever a chair is open. Call the salon at 831-475-4838 and we'll tell you what's available today.
The 20% comes out of the service — cut, color, gloss, keratin, kids' cuts, everything. Gratuity is yours to decide and goes to the stylist. Retail products are excluded.
A short, low-key beach cleanup organized with Save Our Shores. Meet at the salon at 9am — bags, gloves, and coffee provided. We're back on the floor by 10am, cleaned up and ready for the day.
Absolutely — and it's the fastest way to help. There's a link to Save Our Shores' donation page on their site. But please book too, if you're due for a cut.
Yes. We'll post the total raised by June 15 on the salon's Instagram and here on the site. No spin, just the number.
